Easy Chocolate Ice Cream Milkshake

I crave chocolate ice cream milkshake almost all the time. And this was the first really easy chocolate milkshake I found, so here you go to all my like-minded chocolate ice cream milkshake-craver-friends!

Makes 2 cups.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup and a little more milk (preferably cold)
  • 1 tablespoon chocolate (milk or plain)
  • 2 scoops ice cream (see end of post for flavor)
  • Sugar to taste (around one tablespoon or so)

Instructions:

  1. Chop the chocolate finely. Place all but 1 teaspoon chocolate in a small saucepan. Add a little bit of milk and melt gently. (See here on more about how to melt; method 3 is the quickest. Melt only for 30 seconds and stir well until chocolate dissolves).
  2. Place the milk, melted chocolate, sugar and 1 scoop ice cream in a blender.
  3. Blend on maximum speed for 15 seconds.
  4. Pour into two cups. Put half a scoop ice cream in each and sprinkle with the reserved chocolate from step 1. You can add a few chocolate chips if you like.
  5. Place in the freezer for twenty minutes.
  6. Serve.

A few tips:

  • Always strain the milk before use so that there are not bits of cream inside.
  • To garnish, you can add some grated chocolate or chocolate chips as mentioned above, but you could also add M&Ms, chocolate curls, chocolate caraque, cake crumbs (lol another of my silly brainwaves), chocolate wafers, chocolate chip cookies or ice cream of a different flavor. These are just my ideas; you can add whatever you think of ;D
  • You can increase or decrease the ratios of the ingredients depending on the amount of milkshake you want to make. Remember that you’ll have to blend longer for a larger amount of milkshake.
  • On the ice cream flavors: OK so the recipe said vanilla but I put in some Omore tiramisu ice cream (it’s a mix of vanilla, chocolate and coffee.) You could use chocolate or chocolate fudge (mixed chocolate and vanilla). You could use fruit flavored ice cream for decorating if you want but I don’t know how that’ll turn out.

  1. Actually, Ruqayyah, this recipe is for 2 cups. One scoop ice cream is blended, and the other scoop is divided into 2, which is put on the milkshake to decorate (and eat of course).
If the ice cream was less, it wouldn’t really be ice cream milkshake.

And then It shouldn’t it be chocolate ice cream milkshake?
