Cat Profile: Neko

Neko is a cat in our neighbourhood who is apparently very old. (She sits down with quite some difficulty, as if she has arthritis). She is a mix of colors, black, brown, golden and white–and also tabby. She has amazing green eyes, but sadly all of her six kids have boring yellow ones!

Neko is a Japanese word which actually means “cat”–we read that in a book when she started coming, so I thought it was a pretty fitting name the way she just came along.

She left her kittens here once, on Eid-ul-Fitr 2018. We didn’t have any cats at the time, so we had fed Neko throughout Ramadan hoping she would stay, but instead she brought her kittens! There were four but sadly only one of them is alive now 😦

In the winter of 2018, we had three cats–one which our friends had given us and another two of Neko’s kids. Neko came along with another two kittens! We had shooed her away before, because we were sure we couldn’t manage any more cats. But the kittens were just tiny and it was so cold we took pity on them and set up a basket with a cloth in it for them.

Well, it was the planning of Allah that we lost another cat and then we had two empty slots. The good thing was that Neko stayed only until her kittens were big enough to take care of themselves, and then disappeared (cats abandon their kids when they get bigger). Now it’s spring, and we’ve seen Neko a couple of more times……

Right now we have two of Neko’s kids, one from the first batch (unfortunately, she is getting big now too!) and another from the second batch. Check out the Cat Profiles of Chocolate and Pirate to know more about them! And then we have one that our friends gave us, Muffin.

  1. Woah! I’m really digging the template/theme of this
website. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times
it’s very hard to get that “perfect balance” between usability and visual appeal.
I must say you have done a very good job with this.
In addition, the blog loads very fast for me on Firefox.

Outstanding Blog! I’ll immediately grab your rss feed as I can not find your email subscription hyperlink or newsletter service.
Do you have any? Kindly allow me realize in order that I could
subscribe. Thanks. Greetings, I do believe your site could possibly be having web browser compatibility problems.
Whenever I look at your web site in Safari, it looks fine however, when opening in I.E.,
it’s got some overlapping issues. I simply wanted to provide you with a quick heads up!

Other than that, great blog! http://foxnews.net
